A Time For Listening

As Christmas decorations go up around the Capitol, I am again reminded how quickly this year is coming to a close. While I am busy preparing for the holidays just like you, I am also very busy preparing for next session which is just around the corner.

With the 2017 legislative session only a few short weeks away, preparations are in full swing to ensure we hit the ground running on January 9th. There is a lot that needs to happen behind the scenes and House Republicans are working hard to make sure everything is in place for opening day. Bills are being drafted, committees are being assigned, and our schedules are quickly filling up with meetings.

Freshman Profile – Shannon Lundgren

lundgrenRepresentative-elect Shannon Lundgren, of Peosta, was elected to serve House District 57. The district consists of Dubuque county including parts of Dyersville and Peosta.

Shannon grew up in Dubuque.  She graduated from Wahlert High School and earned a certificate in Tourism Management from Midwest Travel & Hospitality Institute.  Early in her career she worked in the local casino industry but eventually transitioned to the hotel industry where she managed a small boutique style inn and large-scale events for a local resort. Freshman Profile – Kristi Hager

hager-headshotRepresentative-elect Kristi Hager, of Waukon, was elected to serve House District 56. The district consists of portions of both Allamakee and Clayton counties in the Northeastern portion of the state.

Kristi has spent most of her life living in Allamakee County.  She grew up in Waukon, attended NITI, Calmar receiving her Associates Degree in nursing.  While raising her family, Kristi attended the University of Dubuque and obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in nursing.  Read more »
