Representative Clel Baudler just finished serving his ninth term in the Iowa House.  He represents Iowa’s 20th District, which includes Greenfield, Guthrie Center, and Perry.

Rep. Baudler is the Chairman of the Public Safety committee, and also serves on the Environmental Protection, Government Oversight, and Natural Resources committees.

Clel was born on April 2, 1939, in Fontanelle, Iowa. His father, Albert, was a farmer and cattle buyer and his mother, Nora, was a homemaker.

He grew up and wen to school in Fontanelle where he graduated from Fontanelle High School in 1957. Clel was an Iowa State Trooper for 32 years. Since retirement Clel keeps busy farming. Clel and his wife, Mary Carole, are blessed with 4 children, 11 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren.

Even though he is retired from the Iowa State Patrol, he remains active in many organizations. Clel is a member of the State Trooper Association, sits on the Board of Directors for the National Rifle Association (NRA), and is a member of the Iowa Police Combat League. He is also involved with the Iowa Farm Bureau Federation, Pheasants Forever, Ducks Unlimited and the Wild Turkey Federation. He is a shooter with the Iowa State Patrol Pistol and Revolver Team.
