Greg Heartsill is serving his third term in the Iowa house.

Greg grew up in southeast Iowa in the little town of Salem and went to high school in nearby Mount Pleasant.  He received a computer programming degree from Indian Hills Community College and a business degree from Buena Vista College.

Greg worked in downtown Des Moines for 12 years in information technology, designing systems that dealt with various state and federal compliance issues.  In 2004, he left the corporate world and started his own custom fence building business in order to have more time with his growing family.

Greg and his wife Angie have lived 21 of their 22-year-marriage on a small farm in southern Marion County.  They have ten children and enjoy raising grass-fed beef, dairy goats, free-range chicken and ducks.  Greg is a member of the National Federation of Independent Businesses, National Rifle Association, and Farm Bureau.  He also has served on the Central Committee of the Marion County Republicans for several years prior to his service in the Iowa Legislature.
