Kent is serving his first term in the Iowa House. He won a hard fought battle for the seat against a 4-term incumbent democrat.

Kent is owner of Pro-Kleen, a building maintenance company. As a business owner he understands why businesses come and leave the state of Iowa.

Kent and his wife Shawnee have six children. He is pro-life and believes the people of Iowa should be able to vote on an amendment that defines marriage. An avid bow hunter, he will work to keep and preserve 2nd Amendment rights, and feels we need to secure our borders.

Kent is a 1990 graduate of Indianola High School and has lived in Indianola since age 1 when his family moved to there from Des Moines. His father is retired from the Indianola Community School District.

Kent and his family are members of the Destiny Bible Church. He is a long-time soccer coach. He has also served as a volunteer firefighter.
