Larry Sheets is serving his third term in the Iowa House.

Larry received a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering with highest distinction from Purdue University and a Master’s of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan. Finally, he received a Master’s in Business Administration from the Illinois Institute of Technology.

In the span of 34 years, Larry was an engineer for AT&T Bell Laboratories, Director of Advanced Technology at Rockwell International, and Chief Technical Officer/Engineering Vice President at Teltrend Inc. Additionally, he holds 16 U.S. patents and has been an amateur radio operator since 1958.

He has been active in his community through his service on the Moulton-Udell School Board, Moulton Economic Development Association, Founding Board Member of the Hope Pregnancy Center, Judson University President’s Advisory Board, Indian Hills Sustainable Agriculture Advisory Board, Christian Ed Chairman and board member of First Baptist Church, little league baseball coach and a past Cubmaster.

Larry is an ardent supporter of Iowa’s farming and hunting activities. He owns a 728 acre farm and received a conservation award for planting 120,000 trees. He and several of his children have been involved in hunting and believes strongly in bearing arms to protect life, liberty, family, home and country.

Larry and his wife, Carol, reside in Moulton and have eight children. Recently, their eldest son graduated with a Masters Degree in biochemistry from Iowa State University and their eldest daughter is a ranked Specialist in the Iowa National Guard.
