Lee Hein is serving his fourth term in the Iowa House.

Lee was born and raised in Monticello.  He attended Iowa State University for two years before returning home to join his family farm.  He is the third generation to operate the family farm where they raise corn, soybeans and cattle.

Lee and his wife, Jacky, have two grown children – Amy and Ben.  Jacky is a small business owner in Monticello.  The family attends St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Monticello.

Hein was previously elected to the Monticello School Board where he served for nine years, five of them as President.  He has also served as the President of both the Cedar Valley Farm Business Association Board and the Iowa Farm Business Association Board.

He remains active in his community as a member of Farm Bureau, Pork Producers, and Cattlemen’s Associations.

In the House, Lee serves as the Chair of the Agriculture Committee.  He also serves on the State Government, Transportation, and Ways and Means committees.
