Norlin Mommsen is serving his second term in the Iowa House.

Mommsen was raised in Miles, graduated from East Central High School, and attended the Farm Operations Program at Iowa State University.  Mommsen began farming over 30 years ago.  For nearly a decade he worked at a local ag retailer selling fertilizer and herbicides.  Today he’s farming again, growing corn and soybeans, and raising hogs and cattle.

Mommsen previously served as a Clinton County Soil and Water District Commissioner was the Rural Representative on the Clinton County Justice Coordinating Commission.  He has also served on the Board of Directors for the Clinton County Farm Bureau and the Great River Threshers.  Over the years he’s been involved with the Clinton County 4-H Youth Board, the Miles Area Lions Club, the Community Ambulance Service, and the FFA Alumni.

Norlin and his wife, Denise, have five children.
