Last week the Iowa Transportation Commission passed two Revitalize Iowa’s Sound Economy (RISE) Local Development grant application—one submitted by the city of Stuart and one by the city of Le Mars.
For Stuart, up to $303,750 will be available for construction of about 1,100 feet of South Seventh Street, 500 feet of Southwest Eighth Street, and intersection improvements on South Gaines Street and South Division Street (located on the southwest side of town.) The project is slated to be complete by November and is needed to access 68 acres for industrial purposes.
For Le Mars, up to $619,375 will be available for construction of about 2,640 feet of 27th Street Southwest and about 510 feet of Industrial Road (located on the southwest side of town). This project is also slated to be complete by November and is needed to access 29 acres for industrial purposes.
